I hope you enjoy the vision I am trying to share and the art I create with my camera.

Way back before digital, I taught myself to shoot great photos on real Kodak 36 exposure Tri-X black and white film. It started back in 1979 on Venice Beach with a Pantax ME camera. I took hundreds of pictures and showed them to a pro photographer friend, paying careful attention to his feedback. Several months and many, many rolls of film later I stumbled upon a zoom lens and then a flash. I've been lucky enough to ask a lot of questions, read a lot of books and learn from my early mistakes. I know now that great light, the right angle and patience, along with being able to see color, value and feel the energy of the image in order to frame the shot in your mind, are key ingredients to creating a great photo.
